What a fabulous day out in the sun!
The day began misty, but the sun broke through midmorning with its happy rays. A delightful day it was! The potjie competition was well attended with great comradery amongst all the participants. Sarah Currie walked away in first place with her fantastic presentation of a traditional potjie, her signature dumplings, a Xhosa style rice dish and out-of-this-world doughnuts. Estie & Benji from Ginger & Co came from Kidd’s Beach to judge the competition. They were engaging judges who thoroughly invested themselves in the event, which was terrific to see.
Locally brewed beer was on tap and beautiful, creative G&Ts were constructed at the Gin Bar. We had stunning stalls of hand-crafted goods: lamb sausage, Wagu burgers, bees wax products, local art, a coffee truck and a diverse selection of seedlings and plants.
We thank the team behind this wonderful event and to everyone who attended. What a festive day, with such a wonderful atmosphere.
Gardens are still open for tours – come walk through Hogsback’s treasure trove of flowers and beautiful surrounds.
